Our History

Holy Lighthouse Mission started in a small garage located

at 65 Anderson Street in New Rochelle, New York in

1930 by Reverend Mamie Farr.

On November 9, 1958 Holy Lighthouse became

incorporated and some years later on January 20, 1964

Holy Lighthouse Church moved to a larger facility at 20

Lockwood Avenue in New Rochelle. Pastor Rowena

Hawkes was the Pastor when the church moved into this

locale. Mother Hawkes, as she was affectionately known,

successfully led the congregation for 35 years.

On September 23, 2001 Holy Lighthouse Church

members triumphantly marched from 20 Lockwood

Avenue in New Rochelle. After much anticipation,

prayer, sacrifice and hard work the church family was

ecstatic to call the former Bank of New York our new

church home. 

Our pastor, Dr. Derek G. Pierson, led the

church in this dynamic building fund undertaking.

On December 25, 2016, by the grace of

God, the mortgage on this

building was burned and celebrated.
